Assin Manso Slave River
Assin Manso lies inland from Cape Coast, on the road down from the north. Captives were bathed in the river here, at the place now called Nnonkonsuo, before being walked to the coast and sold. Two people returned from the Americas are buried at the site. Visits are usually paired with the forts on the coast, in that order, which is the way the journey ran.
